Amfissa Olive Tree

It is considered the "Queen of olives" and is produced in the magnificent olive grove of Amfissa. Large, round, with a green or purple color and rich, satisfying flesh that captivates the senses and is eaten with great pleasure. Whole or carved, in small or larger quantities, preserved in buckets or bottles, with salt or vinegar, alone, as a pulp, as an accompaniment or in dishes, in pastries or pies, Amfissa olives offer gastronomy one of its strongest moments. In exceptional cases, it is worth seeking out the spoon dessert or the olive jam that in creams, pastries, yogurts and cream ice creams takes off every idea of a sweet quest or dessert.

Olive oil

An integral part of the Delphic Landscape, the famous “Olive Grove of Amfissa” is considered the oldest and is the largest continuous olive grove in Greece. From the slopes of Delphi to Kirra and from Drosochori to Eratini, 1,200,000 olive trees create a large “olive green sea” famous for the Amfissa olive it produces and which is the largest in volume and content of olives in Greece. The centuries-old and characterized as a traditional olive grove of Amfissa is protected by special provisions and its cultivation is done with means that do not alter its traditional physiognomy. Centuries-old and newer olive trees provide, with the forms they have taken over time, a living canvas that nature itself has given to man for his enjoyment. It is imperative that you get to know it up close.
