DESCRIPTION
The New Holy Monastery of Timios Prodromos in Desfina was founded between 1875 and 1878, after the abandonment of the old monastery. It operated continuously until 1952, when it was united with the Holy Monastery of Prophet Elias in Chrisso. Since then, it has been a dependency of the latter and remains a vibrant spiritual center with the support of the faithful and the local community.
